Academic Credits in COINED School

Academic Credit Available!

There are two ways to receive academic credits:

  1. Through your own Institution
  2. Through Brookhaven College

1) Through your own Institution

Traveling abroad has become an important part of the academic world. Many universities encourage their students to do it and help them travel through the program they choose and receive credits at the same time.

To approve your program they will ask you for specific information about it to make sure the program follow certain requirements.

Common requests from universities are: course syllabus, talking to other teachers who know the program, classroom hours, course levels, academic policies, receiving progress reports from your teachers while abroad and giving you a test upon your return.

We will help you gather all the necessary paperwork and you may schedule an interview with your academic advisor if needed.


2) Through Brookhaven College

Receive transferable credit from Brookhaven College, an American community college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (www.sacscoc.org). You may receive credit for the following programs:

Argentina: Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Mendoza

Chile: Santiago de Chile

Bolivia: Sucre

Costa Rica: Flamingo Beach, Heredia, Monteverde, Samara Beach

Ecuador: Quito

Guatemala: Antigua

Peru: Cusco

Spain: Alicante, Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Marbella, Salamanca, Sevilla, Valencia

Easy Steps:

  • Talk to your academic advisor to verify that you may transfer credits from Brookhaven College to your university
  • Apply to a COINED’s Program. Make sure you add a comment stating that you are interested in receiving university credits. Upon your registration we will forward your contact information to Brookhaven who will contact you with procedure.
